Frequently asked questions
- Where is my collection data stored?
- Entirely on your device, in a local database. Ramification has no account and no server, so your trees, pots, photos, and care history never leave your phone unless you export or share them yourself.
- How do I back up my collection?
- Use Export/backup in the app to create a backup file, then save it wherever you like — iCloud, email, AirDrop, or a file manager. Restore brings it back. The app will remind you if it's been a while since your last backup.
- What happens to my data if I delete the app?
- Because everything is stored locally, deleting the app deletes its data. Export a backup first if you want to keep it or move to a new device.
- Does the app work without an internet connection?
- Yes. Ramification is designed to work fully offline. It makes no network requests during normal use.
- How do I transfer a tree to a new owner?
- Use Transfer a tree to generate a file containing that tree's and its pot's history, then hand it to the new owner through your device's share sheet. They can import it into their own copy of the app.
